Analytical Response By: Michael Gaetano Throughout the novel, Finn and the Big Guy, Finn learns a lot from all the characters, no matter how small their role is, every character teaches Finn something. At the beginning of the story, Finn is naïve and doesn’t know much about the “Outside†world or any knowledge of a “Better†life. But as Finn meets new people and goes through life, he learns self-awareness and a sense of identity. Instead of being just another person, Finn learns to be someone. Other characters push Finn along in his journey, some give little boost of hope and love to keep Finn going through rough times, other however do the opposite. Marco, for example, gives Finn the idea of stealing the Big Guy, and although it is wrong, he is doing I for a good cause and fro what Finn believes is right. But other characters, such as Lensky, pull Finn down, and make him feels depressed. But things like these are again counter acted by the l...
