Lord of the Flies Lord of the Flies In William Golding’s novel, Lord of the Flies, the fallen nature of man was strongly emphasized. In a time of confusion the children and adults were tying to flee from the savagery of war. Consequently the escape plane was shot down and the boys were left without the supervision of adults, and thus they had to come together in a time of confusion. Nevertheless, the boys tried to make the best of the island, but in the end they were torn apart, and became savages. In Golding’s novel, he writes of the troubles of war, and the hypocritical nature of man. He leaves the responsibility of survival to a group of young boys. They begin their journey with fun and games, but eventually, are left with the decision of choosing right and wrong. Each individual had to choose between two leaders; one was who wanted to work and get rescued, while the other was who wanted to have fun and was not as worried with getting rescued.
