Evaluate the effectiveness of the legal system in responding to changing community values in terms of achieving justice for family members

• History has shown, women being inferior, and submissive to men. They have relied on them for monetary—financial support and social status. There was no notion of the equality of sexes, and men held the dominant position in society. This was also the case in marriages, and consequently had various emotional, physical and mental affects on family members.
• Over time, society’s values and beliefs have changed. New morals and ethics have been adopted due to catalysts such as, new philosophies and phenomenal outbreaks which have changed the community’s views. The legal system has therefore responded to these changing community values, in order to achieve justice for family members.
