Johann Sebastian Bach, a composer of the Baroque Age, grew up in a musical family to become one of the greatest composers of all time. He was born on March 21, 1685, in Eisenach, Thuringen. Johann Sebastian was the youngest of eight children. At a young age he mastered the organ and violin, and was an excellent singer. Around this time both his parents passed away within a year of each other. Fortunately, his older brother, Johann Christoph, took him in and continued his musical training. Along with his musical training Sebastian attended schools in Eisenach, Ohrdruf, and Luneburg.
