Abstract

Although Charlotte Bront롯s novel Jane Eyre was published almost 150 years ago, it portrays feelings that people today can recognize.
In Chapter One, the thesis will deal with the theme of education vs. containment in Jane Eyre. Jane goes through the battle of education vs. containment, where she attempts to learn about herself and about the world, but she must constantly battle a containment of sorts through her different places of residence.
