Is There A God?

For thousands of years, many people have been plagued with the question; "A God or not a God?" Most religious sects believe in some sort of exalted creator, a “God.” A typical atheist statement is that there was no god to create people, animals, and things in general, which is to say that the universe came into being completely on its own. Yet, when you read a book, are you not certain that there is an author? As you read the book, would you not claim that the thought of the book simply coming into existence on its own and making perfect sense, is foolish . . . insane even? Why then, is the idea of an “author” of the universe considered to be such an absurd idea?
To take this idea to a smaller, more conceivable scale, imagine yourself with a clump of clay. Take that clay and sculpt a human being with it. Eyes, ears, and each individual finger are present. Now, imagine someone coming up to you and as they look at your sculpture, they say that it simply happened by sheer chance...
