Is all Rap Controversial?

In current society, rap music has been criticized for being violent. There has been controversy surrounding the use of profanity, drug references, illegal money matters, weapons, murder, and overall unacceptable behavior, that is present in some rap music. I think that it depends on the song, rather than the artist in general. Each song has a different meaning, some are not accepted and some carry a learning lesson. This may seem like a confusing statement, but I will explain further in my essay.
I have chosen the music artist Nas. He has been in the rap community for many years and has put out more than 15 albums of music. Unlike many rappers, he tries to educate the youth by giving information about his past and relaying a subliminal message to the youth not to follow in his footsteps.
