Instead of encouraging conformity, society should show greater appreciation of individual differences.

In the recent years, the issue about the conformity and individual differences has been at the center of numerous controversies¡ªone that fraught with different ideas from different social groups with distinctive background. Such confliction, that concentrated on which one should be placed more attention, arises from the gap between the ideal and the reality. In fact, few answers could give a permanent settlement for this controversy. As far as I concerned, appreciation from society toward individual differences benefit the development of the individual, however, emphasis on conformity, actually, will do much better to the healthy development of the society than the former can.
