The Catcher in the Rye is about a native New Yorker Holden Caulfield. Holden is a sixteen year-old student at Pencey Prep; he has just been expelled for academic failure. One night he decides to leave the school and go underground in New York City. It is fictional story written by J.D. Salinger.
