I Ask You For Nothing

Heart full of hope but
Hands trembling with fear
I find myself writing these words
As I whimper every tear

I hold my pen but
I need not think much
For there is one thing I long for
And that is your soft, tender touch

I gaze through an empty room
And remember what we had shared
For if you meant nothing to anyone
I still would have cared
