(Schwartz & Nichols, 2004). The two theoretical approaches that will be discussed are the Bowenian and the Structural school of family therapy. The main found of the Bowenian Family System Therapy was Murray Bowen. According to Schwartz & Nichols (2004) Bowen systems theory describes the family as a multigenerational network of relationships, which combines individuality and togetherness.
