“The Greatness of War”



Von Treitschke speaks of the emotions and feelings of both the individual and the body or nation is a whole. The state in which he speaks of could be defined as nationalism. War is a way of life as von Treitschke describes it. That, men become part of the war machine, thus making everyone act for the interest and betterment of the nation. It is a great thing to take part in the sharing of that common goal and emotion, to believe in their country and to life for it.

That, anyone not wanting to take part in this emotion, to not delight in heroism may be…”too cowardly to take up arms himself for his fatherland”.
