Government Monitoring the Public-Right or Wrong?

To what extent should the government be able to monitor the public? How much leeway should we give the government to watch the citizens for the purpose of national security? There is a fine line between monitoring the public for the safety of the nation as a whole, and the invasion of privacy. The government must not be able to violate U.S, citizen’s rights by invading their privacy. In the Constitution it says that we need to, “Secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and out posterity.” The key word to notice is liberty. You also can look at the IV Amendment that says, “The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue.” We have the freedom of religion, press, speech, and privacy because of our Constitution and its Amendments.
