Geography

Introduction

The aim of my study is to find out about the quality of housing and the environment in the borough of Kingston upon Thames. The question i will be testing is;

"Does the quality of housing and the environment increase as you move from
the centre to the edge of Kingston upon Thames?"

The reason for us doing this is because we are trying to see what urban land use model works for Kingston, if any.
Uraban land uses tend to be the shops, industries, housing, offices and parks. Mainly urban areas aren't all mixed up they usually are clustered up together this gives distinctive zones. For example in the heart of a city where all of the shops and offices are concentrated, we call this Central Business District (CBD). Morphology is the term used to describe the internal structure of a town or city; this is what i will be looking at. There have been various urban models that have been drawn up to show the arrangement of a settlement.
