GDL

This year according to the American Automobile Association, some 6,000 teens will be killed in crashes of cars driven by teens; an additional 600,000 teens will be injured. The problem has reached epidemic proportions. Teens are proven to be the worst drivers on the road. While only 7% of drivers on the road are teens they make up for 14% of all accidents according to the NHTSA. The reason is because they have no experience. We need a better way to ease novice drivers onto the roads where they put every ones life at risk. The way we did it before would be comparable to taking a kindergartener and placing him in the 3rd grade. Some experts say that we should change our legal driving age to 18 like most European countries. But there’s a better solution. Graduated licensing, or GDL, is the answer.
