Organ transplants are a very difficult because of the waiting list and the operation. More than 73,000 men, women, and children await life saving transplants. Every 14 minutes someone in the world put their name on a waiting list some where. For the lack of organs 16 people die each day. In 1999, there were 5,843 organs donors. This resulted in 21,990 transplants. Cornea transplant, uncommon transplant, was performed 33,020 in 1999. In 1999 600,000 tissue transplants were performed (Organ Transplant).
Their are many organ transplants like: kidneys, liver, heart, and heart- and-lungs. An organ transplant could be a life or death situation. Many people have died because of the lack of donors. You could save a life by being a donor (Organ Transplant).
Organ transplants carry a high risk of cancers. A 42- year old women was a multi organ donor, which saved many lives. Her kidneys, heart, liver, corneas, and bone marrow, and skin were all up for a transplant. It is uncommon to h...
