Foreign Film Amelie Essay

Amelie is the first foreign film I have ever watched. As far as what was going on, I’m not sure. The feelings I felt for the movie during the first half hour was confused, until I finally realized what was going on. Amelie was a young girl who was believed to have a heart problem. Her family believed this because every time her father, a doctor, would touch Amelie her heart would race. This was not a heart problem, she was just happy to have her father finally pay attention to her. This made me feel sorry for Amelie.
Then as the movie progressed more bad things happened to Amelie, which made me feel pity for her. A woman jumping off of a roof killed her mother right next to her, and her father was depressed and not very talkative. As I watched this film I felt sad, and still confused about why any of that happened.
As the movie came to the end Amelie seemed to have finally found happiness in helping others. I felt happy for Amelie. The last day of the movie is ...
