Tennyson says that if we can understand a flower, then we would know who we are and what the world is. Observing and understanding a flower can thus be considered an important process. However, different people see things in different ways. Given a certain object there are various ways it can be examined and described, according to the observer's approach and his / her reaction to it. Perception depends on the experience of the observer, the result of combining sensation and interpretation, and on the basis of his/ her knowledge.
