First Amendment

First Amendment Final Draft
The first Amendment was written by the forefathers with the intention to give the media, or any citizen, the ability to speak out against the federal Government or political leaders, without being punished or quieted. They also wanted the Government to have a laissez fair mindset with the printed media because they wanted political, and all ideas concerning the general public and what is going on to be printed. The forefathers wanted to have the media controlled, if at all, by the state. I believe they were correct in setting it up this way with the exception of libel language, fighting language and other Threats to the Peace.
