Explain what a study of St Mark’s Gospel can tell Christians about the nature of discipleship?

A Christian disciple is someone who follows Jesus and learns from his teachings.
In Mark’s Gospel we learn a lot about the nature of discipleship through what the 12 apostles had to do in order to be able to follow Jesus. The names of the 12 apostles are Judas Iscariot, Simon also known as Peter, Andrew, Matthew also known as Levi, Phillip, Thomas, James, Simon, Bartholomew, James and John. The first four that were called were Simon and Andrew, James and John. On Lake Galilee (Mark 1:14-18) Simon and his brother Andrew were fishing, using nets.
