Europeans fled from Europe to come to the new world. In the Old World many people were required to worship their monarchy. Soon people found out that there were no more religious freedoms in the New World as there was in the Old. Although they fled from Europe to live greater religious freedom, it's ironic that the very people were not very tolerant of the other beliefs in the New World.
