In October, last year Emma Christofferson - a 28 year old - to be bride – was on her way home to England on a Qantas plane, after a three-week holiday in Australia.

The 10000 m le journey to London’s Heathrow airport takes at least 20hours and usually invokes at least one stopover.

Towards the end of the flight Emma began to feel unwell

As she made her way to the arrival hall with other passengers. Suddenly unable to breathe she collapsed.

Emma was dead before she reached the hospital.

After the postmortem report it was confirmed that the cause of death was DVT, a blood clot that was formed during a long flight.

Emma became one of the youngest victims who died of DVT and her death made headline news across the world.

Ever since, airlines have become under fire, to take necessary actions for the safety of their passengers.
