Disire

In our lives, it’s very difficult for us sometimes to choose between obligation and desire. One side is the loyalty that we have for our parents and the other side is our loyalty to ourselves. In other words, our mind can be torn between these two things. For instance, in Sen-jo’s story by Zenkei Shibayama, Sen-jos’ father wanted her to marry Hinryo, but she was in love and got married with Ochu. In my own opinion, we shouldn’t choose obligation because if we should, we won’t have a happy life and we will regret to follow it in the future.
It’s very important for us to follow our heart-desire because we will have a happy life. For example, after leaving the village to Shoku, Sen-jo and Ochu got married and lived very happy with two children.
Besides, we all know that our parents have raised us when we were young, so we should follow our parents’ wishes. However, I think we have freedom to decide what we want to do or what we don’t want ...
