This issue i am about to discuss is whether zoos are valuable and necessary or cruel and should be banned.
The people who are for zoos say the most common accusation held against zoos is for cruelty. Most zookeepers are genuine animal lovers. They believe that animals kept under their charge are contented and as happy as their wild relations. Zoo animals live longer lives, because they suffer fewer parasites and diseases. They live without the fear of being eaten and hunted and without starvation. Good zoos give animals their natural temperature to live in.
Miranda Stevenson who is in charge of about 1000 animals says that 'Zoos are not what they used to be and i am against what they used to be'. She later on says 'Edinborough is considered to be a progressive zoo where much work is being done to save species'.
