The Death Penalty
Leviticus 24:17-18 states: “If anyone takes the life of a human being, he must be put to death. Anyone who takes the life of someone’s animal must make restitution-life for life”. This was true in the times of Jesus Christ and should still be true today. The death penalty is a very controversial topic in today’s world but in my opinion, the death penalty should be carried out as a form of punishment for certain crimes. Many reasons will be given in favor of the death penalty but for me, the most important reason is that the death penalty allows families of victims to reach closure.
When someone commits a crime, they are likely to commit crimes repeatedly. There are many cases in which a crime has been committed, and then a similar crime will be committed again.
