CRIMINAL RECORD SYSTEM

The Criminal Investigation Department writes up crucial records on
Individuals who have been convicted of crime, as well as those suspected
Of misconduct or wanted by the law. The information they record is
Highly sensitive and any complication in data management could be fatal.
In this view there is therefore a need for an effective system to be in place. Concern is beginning to rise over the effectiveness of the current manual system as difficulties are being experienced.

Statement of the problem

This is the outline of problems being faced in the existing system. The department experiences the following problems:
a) Slowness
The processing speed is slow. Criminal record system involves a lot of documentation, this factor in conjunction with fact that the system in operation is manual involving a lot of paperwork makes the processing speed excruciatingly slow.
