Creative management 1.1 Ways of describing the creativity of an individual 1.1.1 The way of learning One way of looking on differences of creativity between people is describing how they learn. According to Kolb the learning process can be seen as a cycle which is divided in four stages. Experiencing oneself in the "doing" of a task is usually the first phase. In this stage the individual, team or organization simply carries out the task assigned. Second is the reflection stage, which involves stepping back from the task and reviewing what has been done. The skills of observing, noticing differences, and applying terms help to identify subtle events. Following this stage, the connection phase involves interpreting the events that have been noticed and understanding the relationships among them. This is also called “Abstract Conceptualisation†and it is seen as particularly helpful as a template for framing and explaining events. The last part of the cycle is the planning stage.
