Computer

According to the 2000 US census, 54 million households (about 51 percent of households in the US) have one or more computers in the home as of August 2000. Some people claim that a computer is just a tool that people use to get work done. On the other hand, some people think the computer has become more than just a “tool” because it allows us to communicate more efficiently, entertain, and be more productive. The computer has become a big part of everyday life to millions of people in modern society. Although computers have improved communication, productivity and convenience, they have also made society weak and vulnerable because they take over some of our most valuable abilities such as literary and social skills. Society has also become too dependent on computers, for instance we rely too heavily on digital data which can easily be destroyed or stolen. With the steady increase of computer use, society will become more dependent in years to come.
