Cocaine

Start with a personal story about a girl I know who was addicted to cocaine. My name is Marcy Jones and today I am going to talk to you a little about the drug, cocaine. Cocaine is a strongly addictive stimulant that can have disastrous effects on a user’s body and life. Cocaine is sometimes referred to as the champagne of drugs. According to the DEA (Drug enforcement administration), about 10% of Americans have tried cocaine at least once on their lifetime. And at least 25% will become addicted to the drug. The girl I was talk about was one of those percents. Cocaine destroyed her life and almost killed her. I am talking to you today to give you some information so that maybe someone won’t have to go through what she went through. I am going to talk a little about the drug, the health risks of using it, and the other effects it can have on a person’s life. Let me go ahead and give you some basic facts about cocaine.
