1. Introduction
· Approximately 1 paragraph introducing all three books and my objective – to explain the life of Cleopatra – what type of person she was, what she accomplished, her lover/husband Antony, as well as her strengths and weaknesses
2. Ptolemaic Dynasty
· Ptolemy XII was Cleopatra’s father
· He was known as a weak and cruel ruler
· She was born in 69 BC in Alexandria
· Cleopatra had two older sisters, a younger sister and two younger brothers
· After her older sister, Bernice was beheaded by her father and her other older sister Cleopatra VI died, Cleopatra was next in line to take the throne
· Became Queen of Egypt at the age of 18 – 51 BC in conjunction of her younger brother Ptolemy after their father died
· Cleopatra was known to speak numerous different languages
· She could carry on conversations with almost anyone, most of the time without interpreters present
