“Children of the Sea” takes place on a remote island named Haiti. Haiti is not a very rich country, it is very poor. The story “Children of the Sea” is written in a series of letters between two people. The people in Haiti were being harassed abused and sometimes shot by these angry soldiers who were out to get the kids who were part of the Youth Federation who went against the government on the radio. The Haitian leader stepped down and the dictator took over who no one liked.
One of the people involved in the letter writing was a boy named Kompe that lives on the island of Haiti. Kompe was a very smart boy, who was one of the only people who passed the university exam, wrote his letters very descriptively. Kompe jumped...
