Investigate the change of war poetry from 1800 to the present day.

When investigating the change of war poetry from 1800 to the present day, you can clearly notice there is a definite contrast between the poems.

As the poems are fundamentally different in their approach to the topic, the rhyming schemes, structure, and language are also vastly different. However, the subject matter of the poem is obviously generally the same.

All of the poems I have looked at have the same purpose, to convey the poets own beliefs against war, for example, Wilfred Owen was an avid anti-war activist, despite, or perhaps because of, the fact he fought in world war one.

The poems I have looked at from 1800 to the present day have a very similar content because the topic is common to all of them.
