Structure of a leaf-

Different functions of the parts of the leaf-
Mesophyll- photosynthetic tissue of leaves loaded with chloroplast and
has air space that acts as resources for CO2 and H2O
Epidermis- single layer of cells covering the upper and lower layer of the
leaf
Cuticle- waxy substance covering leaf that also acts as H2O repellent and
keeps H2O in the leaf
Stomates- minute pores on the underside of the leaf which allows
diffusion of gases (Transpiration, evaporation of H2O from leafs)
Guard Cells- act as a gate opening and closing the stomates in response to
environmental conditions
