The Pigman

The Pigman book is about a lonely old man called Mr.Pignati who has an awful
secret. Lorraine and John, two high school sophomores learn his terrible secret. Dealing
with friendship, reluctance to grow up and death. In the novel The Pigman, by Paul Zindel
the author communicates the ideas of friendship, reluctance to grow up and death.
through the literary theme.


Friendship is a key element to a healthy relationship and will contribute love and
companionship in ones life. “ Lorraine and John apologize for having that party. We had
only invited two people, but those others stopped by, and before you knew it things got
out of hand. I mean, Lorraine and I will pay for everything”. This quote makes me think
of friendship when John and Lorraine offer to take the Pigman to the zoo with them.
Then they pay for everything even the peanuts and the train ride to go see Bobo....
