Big Brother

Big Brother’s identity is the biggest mystery of the novel 1984. He is also the most important aspect. Who is this apparently all powerful individual? Big Brother may have been a real man from the past or present. He could have been different men that came to power during different time spans. Big Brother may have never existed. He could be the product of the government’s imagination. An all-powerful man “made” to be the fictitious leader in which the people of Oceania were to live in fear or love for.
