Introduction

With the technology we have in the twenty first century we enjoy and take for granted, comforts and benefits that were unthinkable only decades back. Yet we hardly think about how, why this is possible and who makes it possible.

Imagine a world without engineers. We are talking about a world without cars, planes, trains and certainly not mobile phones. Just two hundred years ago all this seemed a mere impossibility. For people of two hundred years ago, anything taking off the ground let alone an aircraft will be nothing short of a miracle. Engineers make miracles possible.

An engineer can be almost anything but not everyone can become an engineer. So to be a good engineer at that requires qualities and skills that are not so easily achievable. This places a grave importance on the attributes a good engineer possess and why.
