Andrew Jacksons life

Andrew Jackson was born on March 15, 1767 in Waxhaw South Carolina. His dad died a few days before he was born. His mom decided to move close to a nearby relative James Crawford. Andrew spent most of his childhood here. He went to the frontier schools and got the reputation of be fiery tempered and willing to fight anyone.

In 1780 they American revolution reached the Carolinas. Jackson was only 13 and became a messenger in the mounted militia of south Carolina. His brother hugh was killed and he and his other brother were captured because he refused to polish the boots of a British officer. They were then sent into a british prison where smallpox broke out. Mrs. Jackson gained her boys release. But robber died. Mrs Jackson became a nurse for the American prisoners. She soon caught smallpox and died.

Andrew was now 14 without any family. He decided to take up saddle making and school teaching. With the 300 dollars he inherited from his grandfather. He went to Ch...
