Around the middle of the semester we will be discussing the topics from your Special Assignments (please see the course syllabus). In order to be prepared for those discussions, we have to have group assignments made so that you can start working on your Position Papers and conducting your Group Discussions. I am including the instructions from the syllabus below. Please note that everyone must choose your topic early in order to be ready when we start that section of the course. The following are the topics to be discussed:
1. Doctor-assisted suicide should be legalized.
2. Abortion on demand (within the first trimester) is a woman’s inalienable right.
3. It should be illegal for parents and/or teacher to spank children.
4. Gays and lesbians should have the same legal and civil rights as heterosexuals.
