The American Revolution was an act that in theory could have been avoided but in reality was bound to happen. Many scholars could say that this turning point in American history could have been easily avoided if a number have things could have been altered. Taxation without representation, military trials, and the restrictions placed on trade were all items, which, if fixed, could have meant England’s continual rule over the American colonies today.
Due to England’s hunger for power and the military juggernaut that it produced, it was forced to place larger and more imaginative taxes on its subjects, including those in the colonies. These taxes would play a large part in the resentment of England and it’s policies by the Sons of liberty.
