All Quiete on the Western Front - WW1 Propoganda

The book, “All Quiete On The Western Front”, is an effective piece of anti-war propoganda, which displays the horrors of war. Because the book described how the war not only destroyed the people, but how deeply it effected the survivors. The reader gets a better sense of how the war changes a persons life, and whether on not they die, they are still destroyed as a peron.
There were many scenes in the beginning of he book, that showed how the characters, such as Paul Baumer, where very acited about joining the war, but slowely lost moral. When they first got to the trenches, Paul was fresh, new and high in moral. He didn’t enjoy killing people, because he just saw them as the enemy so it didn’t bother him greatly. When Joseph Behm , a friend from school, died the other schoolmates’ belief in autority figres died along with him, because Kantorek, the school master, presured him into joining the war.
