Scientific Process of Identification

Observation:

Why do the nations of Eastern and Southern Africa have the world’s highest rates for sexually transmitted diseases amongst the population? How does the local government play a role (if any), in the preventative measures that are taken by its citizens? What is the correlation between social and economic conditions and STD’s in these nations?

Hypothesis:

I believe that the economic and social conditions of the nations of Eastern and Southern Africa are the largest influences on the amount of sexually transmitted diseases that occur. If African nations of the Eastern and Southern regions governments had stability, I believe that rate of AIDS transmission would greatly decrease. However, due to the lack of proper funding, due to corrupt governments transitioning to democracy, the education in these nations on sexually transmitted diseases is very small.
