Agnes Macphail

Through out history there have been many significant people that have contributed in making Canada an equally diverse country. Agnes Macphail was one individual who played a major role in shaping our society into what it is today.

Before Agnes Macphail’s accomplishments in the Canadian government she went through several years preparing for an independent future. Years of education and training were her ingredients to success. At the age fourteen Agnes had passed her high school entrance exam with very little difficulty. In her years of high school she discovered her talent in winning debates by joining the literacy club. She was ahead of the class and by the age 18 she was accepted into Normal school to train to be a teacher. Graduating from Normal School at the age 19 Agnes found herself walking into her first classroom of students at Gowanlocks.
