Age communication

There are 6 main types of power. I am going to give an example of how I have experienced each type.

Legitimate Power

An example of when I have experienced legitimate power is when I was at school, by my teacher. My teacher asked me to tidy the classroom and her desk and I did it straight away without a moan, but if another classmate asked me to tidy their desk, I wouldn’t have done it. This is because my teacher had legitimate power over me.
I also experience legitimate power when I am babysitting. The children I baby-sit look up to me and respect what I say; when I tell them to do something they do it.

Expert Power

I have experienced expert power when I saw ‘Tommy Emmanuel’ perform. He is an amazing guitar expert. He was so good that in my head, I put him up on a pedestal.


Reward Power

I have experience reward power from my boss, every time I reached the set target, my boss would give me a cd voucher. Since I desired cd vouchers, I worked as efficiently as ...
