Adolescence of Time
Antoine de Saint-Exupery’s The Little Prince explores the relationships of age and understanding, while emphasizing the theme of time. The Prince goes on a series of journeys where he begins to create a unique belief system of his own. The characters he meets offer distinct perspectives concerning the importance of time and love. Thus, helping The Prince decide for himself what he truly loves, and how he will go about caring for those things. Different insight and experience into the world provide the characters from The Little Prince with contrasting views of time with relation to each other.
Throughout this book, one finds many similarities between the experience a character has had, and their opinion of how one should value his or her time. Most of the adults in this novel feel they are always lacking time. They believe time is one of their most valuable assets when it comes to hard work.
