Adolescence Focus Introduction The neighborhood in which I live can be classified as the “typical” suburban environment, comprising a multitude of children who qualify for the purpose of this case study – Adolescence Focus. The child whom I chose for this exercise is a thirteen (13) year old, male, who will be referred from this point onwards as “Jim.” He is the only child of my next-door neighbors, who are Caucasian. Jim was chosen since I am very familiar with the family. Also, my investigation occurred during several weekend visits, where I utilized interviews and observation exercises. In terms of a physical description: Jim has some facial hair (not fully developed), has broad shoulders and is very muscular. Overall, he measures approximately 5 feet, 9 inches in height, and weighs 135 pounds. He has brown eyes, wears light-brown hair (short) and has a white complexion.
