There are many forms of academic dishonesty, such as, plagiarism, fabrication, cheating, and misconduct. College students across the nation make these dishonest mistakes more often than they are probably aware of. Many students feel the pressure to achieve high grades and are willing to sacrifice honor and integrity to achieve them. A student’s grade point average is very important to future employment and graduate studies. Competition for jobs is enormous, and the poor economic situation in the United States causes a tight labor market and a higher unemployment rate. Graduates now need to battle for entry-level positions with experienced workers, as well as other graduates. The employment seekers realize they need to impress employers in any way possible, and one’s G.P.A. is on the top of the list. In addition, many students’ academic status is a high priority.
