1. How would you describe Dofasco’s operations process? What type of transformation technology does it use?
Dofasco’s operations process is one of a larger scale compared to most companies. Its resources include a large non-unionized employee base, upwards of 7,500. All of Dofasco’s modern Steel making equipment and ore refining equipment is located on 720 acres of land in Hamilton. Some types of transformational technology would be things such as the ore refining machines, chemical process machines, which take the raw materials and process them into materials that can be used for steel. Also, the machines that fabricate the steel from the raw materials that are processed.
2. What are the major inputs to the production process? What are its outputs?
