a mystic experience

I was born in a religiously and spiritually enlightened family in India. My grandparents and my mother were devotee of Hindu gods and worshipped them daily as a matter of daily chore. They had deep faith in existence of God and seem to derive some secret strength from His omnipresent power. In Hindu religion idol worship, visit to temples, religious functions and rituals are part of life and considered to be a trusted path towards emancipation or Moksha. I have been a silent observer to this practice within and outside my family but never been able to identify myself completely with it. May be my logical mind and training in science could not find a logic in this practice. A matter to me, until proven and tested on sound logic does not carry much weight.
