A Lesson Before Dying

This story has been very interesting so far. It deals with racism and the saying, “innocent until proven guilty.” When I first started reading this novel, I thought it was kind of dull and boring. Now that the story has really started to develop, I am starting to really like it. Grant seems to have too much pressure on him. He has to please his aunt, Jefferson’s aunt, and the people of the white community. He has to please his aunt because she wants him to be the best that he possibly can be.
