Several deaths occur in Robs life during the time period of this book. Of the most important deaths is the weaseled dogs, Pinky’s and the rabbit that was attacked by the hawk. Rob has many different reactions to all of these deaths but like all necessary deaths, they all prepare Rob for his manhood and the death of his father.
